Heiner's syndrome Heiner's syndrome (hīn′ĕr) [Douglas Heiner, U.S. physician] Allergic intolerance to cow's milk. This disorder is primarily identified in young children with recurrent episodes of rhinitis, earache, and bleeding into the lungs, usually associated with stunted growth. Affected children do well with a diet that minimizes exposure to cow's milk or its derivatives. Corticosteroids are sometimes used during acute episodes to reduce inflammation in the lungs. |
