Homo Antecessor

An extinct hominin dating from 1.2 million to 800,000 years discovered in the Atapuerca mountains of Spain. H antecessor’s fossils resemble those of H sapiens, but have more in common with more primitive hominids; H antecessor is thought to have been the antecessor to H heidelbergensis, who inhabited Europe from 600,000 to 250,000 years ago in the Pleistocene era
