Hai Ho
Hai Ho
a river in East China. The Hai Ho is 102 km long, as measured from the mouth of the Wei Ho; it receives the waters of the Pai Ho, Wei Ho, Yungting Ho, Tzuya Ho, and the Tach’ing Ho, which flow into the Hai Ho in or near Tientsin. The river drains an area of approximately 280,000 sq km and empties into a gulf of the Yellow Sea, the Pohai Wan. It is fed by rain and by summer freshets and has a mean flow rate of approximately 650 cu m per sec. The waters of the Hai Ho and its tributaries are used extensively for irrigation. The river is navigable. The city of Tientsin is situated on the Hai Ho.
