Hydraulic Pulper

Hydraulic Pulper

a machine for crushing dry wood pulp, waste paper, and return broke and converting them to a water suspension (slurry) in the production of paper and cardboard. A hydraulic pulper consists of a cylindrical bath with cutters and a flat rotor with similar blades, which creates intense circulation of the suspension during rotation. Hydraulic pulpers may have intermittent or continuous operation. In the latter case a perforated sieve (extractor) is installed in the bottom of the bath for continuous drainage of the pulp suspension (slurry). The bath is up to 6 m in diameter and has a capacity of up to 180 tons per day.
