单词 | imperative coordination |
释义 | imperative coordinationimperative coordinationthe likelihood that a command within a given organization or society will be obeyed. The term is Timasheff's English translation (also adopted by PARSONS, 1964) of WEBER's concept Herrschaft, more usually translated as DOMINATION. As Parsons suggests, the term Herrschaft has no adequate translation in English. Parsons and Timasheff were attempting to bring out more clearly the distinction in Weber's work between POWER (Macht) - the capacity possessed by a SOCIAL ACTOR to carry out his or her own will ‘despite resistance’ from others – and Herrschaft. Where Weber is more particularly concerned with legitime Herrschaft, Parsons uses the term AUTHORITY.See also LEGITIMATE AUTHORITY OR POLITICAL LEGITIMACY. |
