Bangassou

a city in the Central African Republic, on the M’bomu River (Congo Basin). It is the administrative center of M’bomu Prefecture. Population, 18,500(1966). Bangassou is connected with the capital city of Bangui by a highway. There is an airport. Bangassou is the center of the agricultural region (cotton, coffee, sisal). There are cotton-ginning and soap-making enterprises.
