Honeydew Honey
Honeydew Honey
honey produced by bees from honeydew and manna. It is often mixed with floral honey. Honeydew honey is less sweet and more sticky than floral honey. It also contains more protein, dextrine, mineral salts, and organic acids. Honeydew honey is harmless to man but sometimes toxic to bees. Thus, it is not kept in beehives during wintering. Honeydew honey is an effective inhibitor of bacteria. Certain bacteria die when immersed in water solutions of honeydew honey.
