Higgins, George Higgins, George (Vincent)(1923– ) lawyer, writer; born in Brockton, Mass. He studied at Boston College (B.A. 1961; J.D. 1967) and Stanford (M.A. 1965). After working as a journalist (1962–64), he made an impressive career as a criminal trial lawyer in the Boston area, where he lived. He also taught at Boston Law School (1973–74; 1978–79). He wrote many crime novels, and is noted for his extensive use of dialogue, as in The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1972). |
