hydrogen peroxide therapy

hydrogen peroxide therapy

Alternative medicine
A non-mainstream form of “oxidative” therapy in which hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is administered parenterally, or more commonly locally, per rectum to induce oxidative inactivation of various organisms or toxins in the body. HPT is allegedly useful for AIDS, arthritis, cancer, candidiasis, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, emphysema, fractures, headaches, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, varicose veins and other conditions. It was claimed to have antiviral (anti-HIV), antimicrobial and antitumoural activity, claims determined by the FDA to be fraudulent.
