Koziolek, Helmut

 

Born July 5,1927, in Beuthen. Economist of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), academician of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (1965). In 1957 he became professor of the political economy of socialism and head of a subdepartment and assistant director of the Institute of Economics. From 1962 to 1965 he was head of the economic research institute under the State Planning Commission; in 1965 he became head of the Central Institute of the Socialist Economy under the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. He has written on the political economy of socialism. He received the National Prize of the GDR in 1966.
