Igharghar

 

one of the largest dry river courses in the Western Sahara (Africa). Length, greater than 1,100 km. It rises in the Ahaggar Upland and travels northward, cutting through the northern slopes of the upland and forming a deep, steep canyon. There are permanent streams in the mountains. The floodwaters dry up in the sand dunes (ergs) of the Igharghar.
