Ighil Izane

(formerly Relizane), a city in western Algeria, in the Mostaganem wilaya (province). Population, 43,300 (1966). A railroad station and highway junction, Ighil Izane is the trade and handicraft center of an agricultural region (subtropical horticulture, vegetable growing on irrigated land, and livestock raising). It is the site of enterprises for processing agricultural products and a textile factory.
