Size: 45 acres.
Established: Authorized on June 28, 1948; established on July 4, 1956. Independence Hall designated a World Heritage Site on October 24, 1979.
Location:Visitor center is located at Third and Chestnut streets in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Park is accessible via I-76 and I-676, I-95, and US 30 (Benjamin Franklin Bridge).
Facilities:Rest rooms (é), restaurant/snacks, visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Guided tours, special programs.
Special Features:Spanning more than 20 city blocks within the historic district of the City of Philadelphia, park includes structures and sites associated with the American Revolution and the founding and growth of the United States: Independence Hall (where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were created), Congress Hall, Old City Hall, the Liberty Bell, the First and Second Banks of the United States, Franklin Court, Deshler-Morris House (in Germantown), and others. Park has about 20 buildings open to the public.
