Location:On the ocean side of US 1 at Mile Marker 78.5. Park is usuallyaccessible by private boat or charter boat, but the island's docksustained considerable storm damage and, as of the summer of2006, accessibility was by canoe or kayak only.

Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boat tours, guided tours, hiking.
Special Features:During the 1800s, Indian Key was the site of a lucrative businesssalvaging cargo from wrecked ships, and remains of this activity canstill be seen there. The island was also Dade County's first countyseat (1836).
