(HTLV) (hyūmăn sel lim-fōmă lū-kēmē-ă vīrŭs) A group of viruses (subfamily Oncovirinae, family Retroviridae) that are lymphotropic with a selective affinity for the helper/inducer cell subset of T lymphocytes and are associated with adult T-cell leukemia and lymphoma.
