ground run
ground run n (Aeronautics) the distance taken by an aircraft to brake from its landing speed to its taxiing speed or a stop ground run
ground runi. Starting an aircraft engine on the ground and, if necessary, opening up to maximum power to check either the engine or other aircraft systems. ii. The distance from the brake release to unstuck. This distance is less than the takeoff run (TOR), which is the field length measured from the brake release to the end of the ground run plus one-third of the airborne distance to the screen height.
