Hydroturbine Combiner

Hydroturbine Combiner

a device regulating the position of the runner blades and vanes of the controlling apparatus; it is used in reaction hydroturbines with dual regulation. The position of the blades and vanes that yields the highest efficiency is determined from a diagram (the combiner curve). A hydroturbine combiner makes possible operation at maximum efficiency when the operating conditions of the turbine (for example, head, flow rate, or power) change.
