Higher School of Party Organizers

 

a school of the Central Committee of the ACP(Bolshevik), set up in 1936. It trained Party organizers for leadership work in oblast and krai Party committees, central committees of Communist parties of Union republics, and city and raion committees of the ACP(B). The school admitted Communists with leadership experience in party-organizational work from secretary of a raion party committee or higher. The admission qualifications for the students included at least ten years of party membership and at least five years of leadership party work. The study plan was designed for one or two years of study and included the following basic disciplines: history of the party, questions of Leninism, party development, fundamentals of political economy, general history, and the Constitution of the USSR. The school functioned until 1946 and trained several thousand party officials.
