Hayek Friedrichvon Hayek Friedrichvon (1899-1992) Austrian-born economist and social philosopher who, as professor of Economics at the LSE (1931-50) and later when he moved to the USA, was highly influential in his opposition to central planning and advocacy of free market economics. Hayeks best-known general works include The Road to Serfdom (1944), Individualism and the Economic Order (1948) and the Counter Revolution of Science (1941; 1952). |
