Intermarket sector spread

The spread between the interest rate offered in two sectors of the bond market for issues of the same maturity. For example, a spread between AA bonds and BBB bonds.

Intermarket Sector Spread

The difference in expected yield between two bonds in different sectors with the same maturity. The intermarket sector spread is important in determining which bond in which to invest, especially if one is more expensive than the other.
