[TA] the terminal branch of the recurrent laryngeal nerve as the latter passes deep to the inferior pharyngeal constrictor; it supplies the laryngeal mucosa inferior to the vocal folds and all laryngeal muscles except the cricothyroid. Synonym(s): nervus laryngeus inferior
