interocular transfer interocular transfer (IOT)Refers to a change in threshold in one eye which had been occluded, similar to, but of lower magnitude than that in the fixating eye, in response to a visual stimulation. Example: an elevation of contrast threshold with both eyes following adaptation to high contrast gratings of a given spatial frequency in one eye. The presence of interocular transfer indicates the existence of binocular cortical neurons. |
