Injured while operating a riding lawn mower

Question
Country: United States of AmericaState: TexasI was working on a riding lawn mower, and normally have a rope tied to the deck from the height adjustment control. I removed the rope to repair the deck, and after completing the deck repair, I started to back out of the garage. I thought about the rope since I threw it behind the mower so I reached back to grab it. As I grabbed the rope, the tired was beginning to run over the rope, pinching my hand under the fender. The rope began slipping around the tire, and ended up severing the tip of my middle finger on my right hand. The fender is fairly sharp, and I find daily that there are things I am unable to do because of this accident and was wondering if there might be ground for a case against the mower company. I hate to even bother, but even with the small amount I lost, I struggle with things daily due to strength, grip, and lack of sensitivity.
