Ivory Vertebra Sign

A normally contoured vertebra with no adjacent disc defects, which, when compared to adjacent normal vertebral bodies, is uniformly white—due to increased density resulting from osteoblastic metastasis
Aetiology Osteoblastic cancers Prostate cancer; far less commonly, breast, and colorectal cancer, especially those treated with hormonal or chemotherapy; also Hodgkin’s disease, Paget’s disease of bone, myeloma
