Ivy Bridge
Ivy BridgeThe third microarchitecture used in Intel's Core family of CPU chips, introduced in 2012 and superseding Sandy Bridge. Ivy Bridge reduced element size from 32 to 22 nm and improved the graphics processing unit (GPU) on the chip, including support for 4K resolution. In addition, there was a major manufacturing change of transistor design (see Tri-Gate transistor). Ivy Bridge was superseded by Haswell. See Intel Core, microarchitecture, Intel microarchitectures and Haswell.AcronymsSeeIVB |
