释义 | Johnson, WalterJohnson, Walter (Perry)(1887–1946) baseball pitcher; born in Humboldt, Kans. During his 21-year career with the Washington Senators (1907–27), he won 416 games, the second highest in major league history, and pitched 110 shutouts, a major league record. One of the fastest throwers in the game's history, the right-hander led the league in strikeouts 12 times. Nicknamed, "The Big Train," he was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1936. |
