Jelly Fungi
Jelly Fungi
(Russian, drozhalki), fungi mainly from the order Tremellales of the class Basidiomycetes. They are characterized by basidia that are divided into four cells by longitudinal partitions. Jelly fungi form variously shaped yellowish or brown slimy, jelly-like, or jelly-like cartilaginous fruiting bodies that swell in wet weather and become scarcely noticeable crusts in dry weather. Jelly fungi are almost exclusively saprophytes.
