Kaoyu Lake
Kaoyu Lake
a lake in eastern China, in Kiangsu and Anhwei provinces, part of the Huai river system. It has an area of approximately 1,200 sq km (much larger at its high-water point during the summer). The lake is shallow, with low, flat banks. The Grand Canal passes along its eastern shore and is linked with the lake. The Sang River links it with Hungtse Lake. There is navigation and fishing on Kaoyu Lake, and its waters are also used for irrigation.
