angiocardiography [an″je-o-kahr″de-og´rah-fe] a radiographic diagnostic study of the heart in which valves and vessels are examined via x-ray and fluoroscopy following the introduction of contrast media. See cardiac catheterization.equilibrium radionuclide angiocardiography a form of radionuclide angiocardiography in which images are taken at specific phases of the cardiac cycle over a series of several hundred cycles, with image recording set, or gated, by the occurrence of specific electrocardiographic waveforms. The data can be used to determine average activity during specific cardiac cycles or can be accumulated and displayed in rapid sequence, as a movie.
