kallikrein

[kal″ĭ-kre´in] any of several serine endopeptidases that cleave kininogens to form kinins.plasma kallikrein a hydrolytic enzyme of the plasma that cleaves HMW (high-molecular-weight) kininogen to produce bradykinin. It also activates several blood coagulation factors and plasminogen.
