Kavkazskii Rabochii
(Caucasian Worker), a Bolshevik daily newspaper, the organ of the Caucasian-Regional and Tiflis Committees of the RSDLP (Bolshevik).
The Kavkazskii rabochii was published in Tbilisi from Mar. 11 (24), 1917, to Feb. 8, 1918. Its circulation was 6, 000. Among those who took part in the editorial work were P. A. Dzhapa-ridze, M. G. Tskhakaia, S. G. Shaumian, and S. I. Kavtaradze. The Kavkazskii rabochii promoted Leninist ideas, fought for the implementation of the resolutions of the Seventh (April) All-Russian Conference and the Sixth Congress of the RSDLP (Bolshevik), and conducted a resolute struggle for the establishment of Soviet power and against the Transcaucasian counterrevolutionary government, the Mensheviks, and the Socialist Revolutionaries. In February 1918 the printing press of the newspaper was destroyed by order of the Transcaucasian counterrevolutionary government, and the newspaper ceased publication.
