Istoriia SSSR

(History of the USSR), a scholarly journal, the organ of the Institute of the History of the USSR of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (until 1968, the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR). It has been published six times a year in Moscow since 1957. The journal publishes research articles and reports on questions dealing with the history of the peoples of the USSR. A great deal of space is allotted to Soviet and pre-revolutionary historiography and to an analysis of foreign historical literature. The journal contains the following sections: articles, reports and notices, discussions, the research experience of Soviet historians, criticism and bibliography, the history of the USSR abroad, and scholarly life.
