Kapor, Mitchell

Kapor, Mitchell (David)

(1950– ) computer software designer; born in New York City. He founded Lotus Development Corporation in Cambridge, Mass. (1982), and designed the spreadsheet Lotus 1-2-3 with Jonathan Sachs. He resigned from Lotus (1986) then founded and directed ON Technology (1987–90). He founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation (1990), a public interest organization dealing with computer issues and civil liberties.
