Izberbash

a city (a settlement until 1949) in Dagestan ASSR, on the shore of the Caspian Sea. Izberbash has a railroad station on the Makhachkala-Baku line. Population, 17,000 (1971). Izberbash has a dairy, an electrothermal equipment plant, and a flour-milling combine. Rubble rock and quartz sand are extracted in the area. Izberbash is the site of the Dargin Dramatic Theater and a people’s theater of musical comedy.
