Joint Aviation Authorities
Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA)The Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of European states who have agreed to cooperate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures. This cooperation is intended to provide high and consistent standards of safety and a “level playing-field” for competition in Europe. In the long run, the JAA will be replaced by the European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA); the integration process has already started. This would be a federal executive body derived from the EU (European Union).AcronymsSeeJAA |
