Jõgeva

a city (since 1938); the center of Jõgeva Raion, Estonian SSR. It is located on the Pedja River (in the basin of Lake Chudskoe). Jõgeva has a railroad station on the Tallinn-Tartuline, 50 km northwest of Tartu. The city has a creamery. The State Selection Station of the Estonian Scientific Research Institute for Agriculture and Land Reclamation is located near Jõgeva.
