Location:21 miles north of Park Rapids and 30 miles south of Bemidji on US 71.

Special Features:Established in 1891, Itasca is the oldest state park in Minnesota. The Mississippi River begins its 2,552-mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico here. Points of interest include Preacher's Grove, Peace Pipe Vista, the Itasca Indian Mounds, Wegmann Cabin, and more than 100 lakes.
