Kamenka
a city (since 1956), center of Kamenka Raion, Cherkassy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, located on the Tiasmin River (a tributary of the Dnieper). Railroad station on the Cherkassy-Znamenka line. Population, 14, 600 (1972). Kamenka has a machine-building plant, a sugar plant, a distillery, a butter factory, and a building-materials plant. The literary-memorial museum of A. S. Pushkin and P. I. Tchaikovsky, who had made visits to Kamenka, is in the Green House. V. L. Davydov’s estate, where the members of the Southern Society of the Decembrists used to meet in the 1820’s, has been preserved in Kamenka.
Kamenka
an urban-type settlement, center of Kamenka Raion, Moldavian SSR. Located on the left bank of the Dnestr River, 36 km from the Popeliukhi railroad station on the Zhme-rinka-Razdel’naia line. Population, 12,500(1972). Kamenka has a vegetable and fruit cannery, a bread-baking factory, and a butter factory. It also has a museum of history and local lore and a fruit and vegetable sovkhoz-technicum.

Population, 30, 000 (1970). Kamenka hasplants for the production of farm machinery, building components, carbonic acid, groats, and seeds, a brickyard, a butterfactory, a brewery, and a meat combine. It also has a machine-building evening technicum.

a river in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Angara. It measures 313 km long and drains an areaof 11, 400 sq km. The river is meandering, and there are rapids. Its tributaries are the Uderei River on the right and the KozhimaRiver on the left. The Kamenka River is fed by snow and rain. It is used for floating timber.
