Kamen-Na-Obi

a city in Altai Krai, RSFSR. It is a landing on the left bank of the Ob’ River and a railroad station on the Barnaul-Omsk line, 208 km northwest of Barnaul. Population, 36, 000 (1970). The city has a plant producing metal goods, as well as weaving and garment factories, a cheese-processing combine, a creamery, a liqueur and vodka plant, a furniture factory, and a brickyard. There is also an agricultural technicum, medical and pedagogical schools, and a museum of local lore.
