Kampinos

 

(Kampinoski Park Narodowy), a scenic park(since 1959) in Poland. Area, 22, 353 hectares (1970). It is locatedon the left bank of the Vistula and adjoins Warsaw to the north-west. The ancient Vistula valley has sand dunes (covered mainlyby pine forest) and marshes. Elk, roe deer, and boar inhabit thepark, and the common crane, black stork, short-toed eagle, andcommon heron nest there. The park has ten preserves (1, 890hectares) and a museum.
