Bacteriological Reconnaissance
Bacteriological Reconnaissance
one of the forms of special reconnaissance; an integral part of the system of measures for the protection of troops and population from bacteriological weapons. Bacteriological reconnaissance includes a complex of organizational and practical measures aimed at the timely discovery of the use of bacteriological weapons by an enemy at any given moment, determination of the causative agents and toxins in various objects of the external environment, and establishment of the boundaries of the region (focus) of infection. Bacteriological reconnaissance is organized in the military, in cities and other inhabited points, and in units of the national economy. It is performed by the forces and equipment at special posts (observation points), by reconnaissance patrols, and by special medical and veterinary sections (establishments).
