Jewell Cemetery State Historic Site
Location:In southern Columbia, off Highway 163, in Boone County.
Special Features:This is the burial place of Governor Charles Hardin, who served from1875-1877, and descendants of George Jewell. The most well known memberof the Jewell family buried in the cemetery is William Jewell, who diedwhile establishing a college in Liberty, Missouri, that bears his name.
