Isaacson type-1 lesion

A term of art referring to the presence of epithelial atypia in or adjacent to an ulcer of the GI tract, which can lead to overcalling the lesion cancer or other unwarranted diagnoses. Isaacson type-1 lesions may follow drug therapy, NSAID use or toxins, or other causes of acute inflammation.
