Jodrell Bank Station
Jodrell Bank Station
a scientific research establishment of the University of Manchester at Jodrell Bank, England. In 1957 a radio telescope was set up at the observatory with a steerable parabolic antenna measuring 76 m in diameter and with an azimuth mount. In addition to radio astronomical observations, the radio telescope is used for the radiolocation of the moon and planets and for tracking space probes. Jodrell Bank Station also has a number of other radio astronomical instruments.
