Isaev, Egor Aleksandrovich

 

(also, Georgii Aleksandrovich Isaev). Born May 2, 1926, in the village of Korshevo, Bobrovsk Raion, Voronezh Oblast. Soviet Russian poet.

Isaev graduated from the M. Gorky Institute of Literature (1955). He served in the Great Patriotic War (1941’45). His works were first published in 1945. Isaev is the author of lyrical poems and the narrative poem, Over the Waves of the Danube (1953), devoted to Soviet servicemen stationed beyond the borders of their homeland. The narrative poem The Judgment of Memory (1962) is a lyrical and philosophical antifascist work dedicated to the struggle for peace. Isaev has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and various medals.
