Kamyslybas
(also Kamyshlybash), a salt lake in Kzyl-OrdaOblast, Kazakh SSR. Area, 176 sq km. The lake is located in thenorthern part of the Syr Darya River delta (it is connected to theSyr Darya’s main branch by a channel). During high water andwhen the level of the Syr Darya rises as a result of obstructions and ice jams, its water runs into Kamyslybas. The lake’s area and salinity vary greatly. Common carp, bream, and Caspian roach are caught in the lake.
