mountains in southwestern Poland, constituting the northern spurs of the Sudetes. The range isabout 30 km long and attains a maximum elevation of 724 m.The mountains are composed of limestones, quartzites, schistsand volcanic rocks. There are cuesta ridges. Iron ore depositsand quarries are worked. The slopes are covered with spruceforests; there is logging.
