Karavaevo

an urban-type settlement in Kostroma Raion, Kostroma Oblast, RSFSR. It is situated on the left bank of the Volga, 8 km from Kostroma. There is a dairy plant. A training and experimental farm of the Kostroma Agricultural Institute, formerly the Karavaevo Stock-breeding Sovkhoz, where the Kostroma breed of cattle was developed, is also located there.
