Kasserine

a city in Western Tunisia, the administrative center of the province of Kasserine. Population, 9, 800 (1966). The city is a highway and railroad junction. It has a paper-and-pulp mill (using esparto grass as raw material). Located within the region of Kasserine there are deposits of petroleum and phosphorites.
