Investment Farm Investment FarmA farm one owns as an investment. That is, the personal or corporate owner of an investment farm has the right to all profits and typically must pay for its operations, but the owner does not live on the farm and generally does not conduct operations himself/herself. For example, one may buy a farm and hire workers to grow crops. The actual farmers in this case are paid employees rather than the owners of the land. With the decline of family farming, investment farms have become more common. See also: Agribusiness. |
